The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the proposed examination schedule for three major recruitment exams to be held in November and December 2026, giving candidates a clear timeline for the upcoming selection process.
The schedule covers the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination, Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, commonly known as SSC CPO, and the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (CHSL).

According to the schedule, SSC JE 2026 Paper-I will be conducted from November 2 to 6, while the Sub-Inspector examination will be held from November 20 to 28. The CHSL 2026 Tier-I examination will begin on November 30 and continue until December 31.
The Commission has clarified that the dates are proposed and may be revised through subsequent notices.

Along with the examination schedule, the SSC has announced tentative vacancy figures for the three recruitment drives.
The SSC JE 2026 recruitment has 1,748 tentative vacancies for Junior Engineer posts across various central government organisations and Scientific Assistant posts in the India Meteorological Department. The vacancies cover different engineering disciplines and departments. The Commission will release the post-wise and category-wise vacancy details separately.
The SSC CPO 2026 examination has 1,871 vacancies for Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police, the Central Armed Police Forces and CISF.
For SSC CHSL 2026, the Commission has announced 2,536 tentative vacancies for posts including Lower Divisional Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant and Data Entry Operator.
SSC has said that the CHSL vacancy figure is tentative. The final number of vacancies, along with the post-wise and category-wise breakup, will be notified later.
Candidates appearing for any of the three examinations should keep checking the official SSC notifications for any changes to the proposed schedule, vacancies or other recruitment-related details.
