The revised structure also changes charges for fresh private, renewing private and repeater candidates, with amounts varying according to registration status and the number of subjects selected for exams.

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has increased the SSLC examination fee by 5% for students appearing for the 2026-27 academic year board exams.
Under the revised fee structure, regular students and fresh private candidates appearing for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination for the first time will have to pay ₹746, up from ₹710.

The board said the fee revision follows existing government orders that allow a 5% annual increase in examination fees. The revision is intended to cover the operational and administrative expenses involved in conducting board examinations across Karnataka.
KSEAB has also revised the registration and examination fees applicable to private and repeating candidates.
Fresh private candidates registering for the SSLC examination for the first time will have to pay a registration fee of ₹260, in addition to the applicable application fees.
For private candidates who have already registered and are renewing their registration, the renewal fee has been increased from ₹72 to ₹76.
The revised fee for repeater candidates will vary according to the number of subjects they choose to appear for.
Candidates appearing for one subject will now have to pay ₹470, compared with the earlier fee of ₹448. Those appearing for two subjects will be required to pay ₹587, up from ₹559.
For candidates taking three or more subjects, the revised examination fee has been fixed at ₹790.
