The revised system allows students who qualify in the first exam to seek better scores in up to three subjects during a second attempt, with results based on their stronger overall performance.

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will hold two Class 10 board examinations each year from the 2026-27 academic session, allowing eligible students to improve their marks without waiting for the next academic year.
Under the revised system, the first board examination will be compulsory for all Class 10 students. Students who qualify in the first examination will be allowed to appear for a second examination if they want to improve their scores.

The second examination will allow students to seek improvement in a maximum of three subjects. Students who are satisfied with their performance in the first examination can retain their marks and will not be required to take the second examination.
The decision was announced by Rajasthan School Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar as part of changes to the Class 10 examination system.
The first RBSE Class 10 board examination is expected to be held in February-March, while the second examination is scheduled for May-June. Both examinations will be based on the Class 10 syllabus and will follow a similar examination pattern and marking scheme.
Students appearing in both examinations will have their final results determined by whichever attempt produces the better performance.
This provision ensures that students who take the second examination to improve their marks will not lose the scores they obtained in the first examination.
However, students must first qualify in the initial board examination to become eligible for the second attempt.
The revised system is intended to reduce examination-related pressure and provide students with an additional opportunity to improve their performance within the same academic cycle.
It will also allow students who are unhappy with their marks in one or more subjects to improve their scores without having to wait for another academic session.
