In one of its heaviest bombardment, Israel hit Beirut at midnight on Oct 3 with a series of airstrikes, allegedly while Safieddine was attending a meeting of senior Hezbollah officials in an underground bunker. However, no official confirmation has been made by either the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) or the Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The IDF clarified, “The operations were approved and carried out by the decision of the political echelon,” asserting that operation "Northern Arrows" will continue in parallel to the fighting in Gaza and other arenas.

The Houthis allied with Iran have launched drones and missiles regularly at Israel and on ships connected to Israel in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in solidarity with Palestinians facing Israeli attacks in Gaza since Nov 2023.
The incessant rainfall since Sep 27 have caused floods and landslides in various places claiming at least 192 people. The police officials said that 94 others have been injured.
On Sep 28, the Himalayan nation witnessed unprecedented rainfall — recording 323 millimeters and the highest in 54 years — that caused massive floods and landslides resulting in at least 150 deaths in the past 24 hours and causing severe damage to buildings and infrastructure.
