MICA appoints Prof Dr Ruchi Tewari as Chief Marketing and Experience Officer

MICA has appointed Prof Dr Ruchi Tewari as its Chief Marketing & Experience Officer (CMXO), with a focus on strengthening the institute's brand leadership and improving stakeholder experiences.

Dr Tewari brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education, strategic communication, business ethics, corporate governance, and cross-cultural communication. Her appointment is expected to support MICA's efforts to build stronger relationships with learners, alumni, industry partners, academia, and society.

An academician, researcher, trainer, and institution builder, Dr Tewari holds a PhD in Management, with research focused on CSR communication in the Indian IT sector. She also has an MPhil and a master's degree in English Literature.

During her academic career, Dr Tewari has taught and contributed to several leading institutions, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Rohtak, the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI).

Her areas of expertise include strategic communication, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), business ethics, and technology-mediated human communication.

Her professional experience combines academic research with practical engagement, positioning her to connect institutional communication strategies with stakeholder expectations.

Dr Tewari has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research papers and several book chapters. She has also co-authored books on strategic communication and partnership building. Her research has been presented at prominent international forums, including the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS).

Her research interests cover contemporary issues such as emotional intelligence, digital behavior, and algorithmic media, reflecting the changing relationship between technology, communication, and human interaction.

Alongside her academic contributions, Dr. Tewari has delivered more than 1,000 hours of corporate training for academic and industry audiences

Her training programs have addressed communication effectiveness, critical thinking, strategic storytelling, and crisis communication. She has also conducted faculty development programs and worked as a trainer for organizations, including ISRO and MGLI.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr Tewari said, “It is matter of pride for me but feel a deep sense of responsibility. I understand that this means advancing the institute's brand, enhancing learner and alumni experiences and strengthening MICA's engagement with industry, academia, and society.”

In her new role, Dr Tewari is expected to contribute to MICA's brand strategy and stakeholder engagement while strengthening the institute's position in marketing, communication, creativity, and leadership education.

The appointment aligns with MICA's broader focus on building its institutional reputation and creating meaningful experiences for its diverse stakeholder groups, including students, alumni, industry professionals, and academic partners.
