US President Donald Trump has ordered a suspension of all military aid to Ukraine just days after a heated confrontation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Oval Office in the White House.
A White House official, quoted by Reuters, stated that the decision aligns with Trump’s emphasis on achieving peace. “The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure it contributes to a solution,” the official said.

The freeze applies to all US military equipment not yet delivered to Ukraine, including weapons in transit on aircraft, ships, or stationed in transit areas in Poland, reports indicate.
Tensions between the two leaders flared again last week when Trump criticized Zelenskyy for saying that the war with Russia remained “very, very far away” from ending.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump denounced the remarks, calling them “the worst statement that could have been made” and warning, “America will not put up with it for much longer!”
Despite his frustration with Kyiv, Trump signaled that a minerals deal with Ukraine remains on the table.
When asked by reporters at the White House if the agreement was off, Trump responded, “No, I don’t think so.” Meanwhile, European leaders have been floating proposals for a potential truce in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
