Germany-based SRH University has opened its winter semester with Indian students joining programmes across business, engineering, artificial intelligence, health, design and other career-focused disciplines.

The university offers programmes in business and law, engineering, computer and data science, artificial intelligence, psychology, healthcare, design and architecture. According to the institution, its portfolio includes more than 100 state-accredited, English-taught degree programmes for international students.
Its teaching approach is based on the CORE Principle, which emphasises competence-oriented education, practical assignments, focused learning periods and regular assessment. The university says this model is designed to help students apply academic knowledge to professional situations.

Students can explore undergraduate and postgraduate options, subject to the admission requirements of individual programmes. Applicants who do not meet the direct-entry requirements for a bachelor's degree may also have foundation-study options available.
Ajith Mohan, Director for India at SRH University, said the institution aims to help Indian students gain international exposure while developing skills relevant to employment in a global environment.
He highlighted the importance of combining academic instruction with practical learning so students can understand how their knowledge translates into workplace applications.
Oana Lelcu, Global Strategy Director at SRH University, said the university intends to integrate academic learning with practical competencies, international perspectives, artificial intelligence and industry engagement. She also outlined plans to develop Leipzig as an additional core campus, with a focus on biotechnology from 2028.
These plans form part of the university's wider approach to developing its academic portfolio and learning infrastructure.
SRH University has identified Berlin and Heidelberg as its flagship campuses, offering broad selections of English-taught programmes. Leipzig, Dresden and Gera will continue to operate as core locations with selected English-language courses.
According to the university, concentrating resources on its main campuses is intended to expand programme choices, strengthen student services and improve access to housing assistance and career guidance.
For international students, campus location, programme availability, accommodation and career support remain important considerations when comparing study options in Germany.
Germany has become an increasingly popular destination for Indian students pursuing higher education abroad.
According to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), 59,419 Indian students were enrolled at German higher education institutions in the 2024–25 academic year, compared with 28,905 in 2020. This represents more than a doubling of enrolment over the period.
Engineering and related fields, along with social sciences, economics and management, are among the subjects attracting Indian students to Germany. The trend provides important context for universities seeking to attract students from India.
SRH University says more than 2,000 Indian students are currently enrolled across its programmes. It identifies engineering, computer science, information technology, data science, business administration, MBA programmes and supply chain management among popular choices for Indian applicants.
As the 2026–27 winter semester gets underway, the university says its international community comprises nearly 10,000 students representing more than 140 countries.
SRH University is a private higher education institution in Germany with five locations and a portfolio of approximately 100 or more degree programmes. It is part of the non-profit SRH foundation group, which operates in education and healthcare.
The university focuses on practice-oriented learning, combining classroom teaching with applied projects and contemporary educational methods. Together with SRH Distance Learning University and EBS University of Business and Law, the wider SRH university network serves students across multiple academic disciplines.
