UK University of East Anglia offers scholarships for Indian PG students for 2026 intake

The University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom has introduced a new scholarship opportunity for Indian students planning to pursue postgraduate studies beginning in September 2026.

The Vice Chancellor’s Global Impact and Leadership Scholarship will provide selected students with a £10,000 tuition fee reduction for eligible postgraduate taught programs at the university. For students enrolled in two-year programs, the scholarship will apply only to the first year of study.

The scholarship is designed for international students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear commitment to leadership and creating global impact in their respective fields.

As part of the application process, candidates must submit written responses addressing three key areas.

These include their reasons for choosing the University of East Anglia and the selected program, their future career and leadership ambitions, and how their studies will help them contribute to meaningful global change.

Applications will be reviewed by designated panels in March and June 2026. Students selected in each round will be notified shortly after the evaluation process. The final deadline to submit applications is June 26, 2026.

The scholarship is open to students from several regions, including Asia, Africa, South America, the Middle East, North America, Australia, the European Union, and other parts of Europe.

To qualify, Indian applicants must hold either a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible postgraduate taught program at UEA.

They must also be classified as overseas fee-paying students and have achieved or be expected to achieve the equivalent of a UK 2:1 undergraduate degree.

The university noted that the award is available only for selected programs and cannot be combined with other scholarships offered by UEA, except for the International Early Payment Award.

Students who receive full sponsorship covering their entire tuition fee from a government or external organization are not eligible for the scholarship. However, those using government or educational loans that require repayment remain eligible to apply.

Speaking about the initiative, Prof David Maguire, Vice Chancellor at the University of East Anglia, said, “We believe that education has the power to shape global leaders, and the Vice Chancellor’s Global Impact and Leadership Scholarship reflects that belief. This award supports students who demonstrate not only academic excellence but also the potential to lead with purpose and drive positive change in their fields and communities.”

"India has consistently produced some of the world’s most talented and driven individuals, and we are committed to ensuring that the brightest minds have access to the world-class education and opportunities that UEA offers,” Maguire added.
