The entrance test will be held in pen-and-paper mode across 39 cities, with candidates eligible to apply through Sept 30 and a late application window available in October.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Examination (RIMCEE) 2026 for admission to Class 8 for the July 2027 academic term.
Eligible candidates can apply until Sept 30, 2026, and the examination fee must also be paid by the same date. The entrance test will be held on Dec 6 in pen-and-paper mode.

Applicants who do not complete the registration within the regular window can use the late application facility from Oct 1 to Oct 7 by paying an additional fee.
As per the NTA notification, the examination will be conducted across 39 cities in India. Candidates should go through the detailed Information Bulletin available on the NTA website before filling out the application form.
For admission to Class 8, applicants must be at least 12 years and six months old and not more than 14 years old as of July 1, 2027. The age requirement will be calculated according to the date specified in the examination notification.
The RIMC entrance test will include Mathematics, English and General Knowledge sections. Mathematics and English will require candidates to provide descriptive answers, while the General Knowledge paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
Candidates from the General, Wards of Defence Personnel and Ex-servicemen, and Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) categories will have to pay an examination fee of ₹1,000. The fee for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates is ₹750.
Those applying during the late registration period will have to pay an additional late fee of ₹500.
Applications for RIMCEE 2026 must be submitted through the official NTA website. Candidates can pay the examination fee online using a credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI.
The NTA has advised applicants to regularly visit its official website for notifications and other updates concerning the entrance examination.
