The recruitment drive will fill 32,388 government school teacher vacancies, with the examination set to be held in a single phase following discussions with protesting aspirants.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is expected to begin the application process for the School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) on Sept 21, following changes to the recruitment advertisement and online application procedure.
The commission announced the expected date after postponing the registration process that was originally scheduled to open on Sept 1. The recruitment drive aims to fill 32,388 school teacher vacancies in government schools across Bihar.

On Aug 31, the BPSC had announced that the application process would be deferred due to procedural changes.
"The online applications for the appointment to a total of 32,388 vacant posts of school teachers under the School Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) of the fourth phase under the Education Department, Bihar, which was scheduled to begin on Sept 1, are postponed due to procedural changes. The announcement of the date related to the said advertisement will be made shortly," the official release had stated.
The postponement came as teacher aspirants continued to raise concerns over several aspects of the recruitment process, including the examination pattern and the proposed introduction of negative marking.
After holding discussions with protesting candidates, the Bihar government announced that TRE 4.0 would be conducted in a single phase.
The government also revised the vacancy count for music teachers following demands from candidates. The number of music teacher posts was increased by 111 as part of the recruitment process.
