Here are four Microsoft courses that students can access for free.

  1. Data Science for Beginners

Microsoft's Data Science for Beginners course introduces learners to fundamental concepts in data science. It is intended for students and beginners who are starting to explore the field.

The course covers areas such as working with data, statistics, data analysis and data visualization. Its curriculum combines lessons with quizzes and assignments, while practical examples are used to explain how data science concepts are applied.

The course can help beginners develop an understanding of how data is collected, examined and presented to identify useful insights.

  1. Machine Learning for Beginners

Students looking to understand how machine learning works can explore Microsoft's Machine Learning for Beginners course.

The program is structured as a 12-week curriculum comprising 26 lessons and 52 quizzes. It introduces learners to different machine learning methods and provides practical exercises to help them apply the concepts.

Python and Scikit-learn are used extensively throughout the course, giving beginners an opportunity to work with tools commonly used for machine learning.

  1. AI for Beginners

Microsoft's AI for Beginners course provides an introduction to artificial intelligence and covers several concepts used in modern AI systems.

The 12-week course contains 24 lessons covering topics such as neural networks, deep learning, computer vision and AI ethics.

Along with theoretical concepts, the course includes practical learning using tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. This allows students to gain hands-on exposure while learning about different areas of artificial intelligence.

  1. Generative AI for Beginners

Learners interested in generative artificial intelligence can take Microsoft's Generative AI for Beginners course, which focuses on the fundamentals of the technology and its applications.

The course contains 21 lessons covering the basics of generative AI and explaining how applications based on the technology can be developed.

Alongside conceptual explanations, the lessons feature coding examples that allow learners to practise building generative AI applications and understand how the underlying concepts can be implemented.

All four courses are available through Microsoft's official GitHub repositories. Microsoft also includes these resources among its learning materials for students.

Learners can access the course content online without paying for the resources and work through the lessons at their own pace.

The accompanying quizzes, coding exercises and projects can be used to gain practical experience while developing skills in AI, machine learning and data science.

Students who are new to these fields can use the beginner-focused courses to build foundational knowledge before moving on to more advanced topics and projects.
