Eligibility criteria

Candidates who completed their qualifying degree in 2022 or later can apply for the apprenticeship positions.

Those who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act at another organization, or are currently undergoing such training, will not be eligible. Their applications will not be considered.

Application process

Applications must be submitted online through the NATS 2.0 portal at nats.education.gov.in. IIT Jodhpur will not accept applications through any other mode, including hard-copy submissions.

Only candidates who have registered on the NATS 2.0 portal and apply specifically against the IIT Jodhpur apprenticeship advertisement will be considered.

Applicants must enter their graduation marks as a percentage in the online form. Candidates whose institutions award marks through CGPA must convert their scores into percentages using the formula prescribed by their respective university or institution.

Candidates will be required to produce documentary evidence supporting the CGPA-to-percentage conversion during document verification.

Selection process

IIT Jodhpur will initially shortlist candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in their graduation degree. The institute may prescribe a suitable graduation percentage cutoff depending on the number and quality of applications received.

The institute may also restrict the number of candidates shortlisted for further stages.

If considered necessary, IIT Jodhpur may conduct a written test to screen shortlisted candidates. However, the final selection will be based solely on performance in the interview.

The institute will have the final authority over the shortlisting criteria, selection of the test or interview process, and provisional selection of candidates. Its decision will be binding on applicants.

Document verification

Candidates selected for engagement will have to clear document verification. IIT Jodhpur may conduct the verification before the interview, after provisional selection, or at both stages, depending on the institute's requirements.

Aadhaar and banking requirements

Applicants must have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account that is enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The candidate's name and date of birth must match across the Matriculation Certificate, Aadhaar Card and bank records. Bank account details must also be entered correctly in the online application form.

Apprenticeship terms

The apprenticeship will continue for one year from the date the selected candidate joins IIT Jodhpur. The apprenticeship contract will automatically end once the training period is completed.

Apprentices will not have any right to seek regular employment at IIT Jodhpur during or after the apprenticeship. The institute will also have no obligation to offer employment after the training period ends.

Selected apprentices will receive on-the-job training in the section, department, center, school, unit or office assigned by IIT Jodhpur.

The institute will not provide accommodation, travel allowance or any additional benefits for candidates attending the written test, interview, document verification, joining process or any other stage of recruitment.

The detailed apprenticeship advertisement and other instructions are available on the official IIT Jodhpur website.
