Harvard to offer executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026

Harvard University is set to begin offering executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Sept 17, as the State steps up efforts to attract global universities and strengthen its international education ecosystem.

Reddy made the announcement during a meeting with a delegation of UK business schools and universities at the MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad.

The initiative forms part of Telangana's broader plan to develop the state as a 'Global Knowledge Hub,' with international education, industry collaboration and research identified as key areas.

International education partnerships

Reddy said the presence of international educational institutions in Telangana could open up opportunities for collaboration among overseas universities, domestic institutions and industries.

He said the State government was prepared to extend support to foreign universities and business schools interested in establishing a presence in Telangana.

The meeting was attended by representatives from around 30 UK universities. House of Lords member Karan Bilimoria, British Council representative Janaka Pushpanathan and Chartered Association of Business Schools CEO Flora Hamilton were also part of the delegation.

MIT, Purdue campus discussions underway

The chief minister said the state was also holding discussions on the possibility of establishing offshore campuses of institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Purdue University in Hyderabad.

Potential collaborations with Harvard, MIT, the University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University are also being explored.

According to the state government, these partnerships could cover executive education, dual-degree programs, faculty development and research.

The proposed initiatives are aimed at creating greater access to international academic programs and professional learning opportunities within Telangana.

Harvard leadership program precedes announcement

The announcement follows Reddy's participation in a six-day leadership program at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government earlier this year.

The state is simultaneously developing the Young India Skills University in Bharat Future City and working on plans for an education hub.

Reddy also invited representatives from the UK's education sector to participate in the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, which is scheduled to be held in December.

The state government's plans are part of its wider effort to attract international institutions, expand global academic partnerships and build its education and skills ecosystem.
