Advancing Clean Energy Cooperation under Strategic Partnership

India and Germany have held a high-level strategic dialogue focusing on expanding cooperation in green hydrogen, offshore wind energy, and advanced battery storage technologies. The engagement forms part of their broader strategic partnership aimed at accelerating energy transition and sustainable development.
Both countries reaffirmed collaboration under the Indo-German Energy Forum and climate partnership frameworks. Germany, known for its technological leadership in renewable energy and energy efficiency, is expected to support India through technology transfer, research collaboration, and financial assistance mechanisms.

The dialogue also emphasized skill development, private sector participation, and innovation partnerships between research institutions of both countries. Germany’s expertise in industrial decarbonization and sustainable manufacturing complements India’s growing renewable energy market and ambitious climate targets.
The cooperation aligns with India’s commitments under the Paris Agreement and its target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
