Assam CID hands over the second autopsy report of late singer Zubeen Garg to his wife Garima Saikia Garg as the SIT intensifies investigation into his death, following family complaints and recent arrests linked to the case.

The Assam Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has formally handed over the second autopsy report of late Assamese singer Zubeen Garg to his wife, Garima Saikia Garg.
This development occurred two days after she received the initial post-mortem report conducted in Singapore, where the 52-year-old icon passed away under "mysterious circumstances, as described by the authorities.

An officer from the CID's Special Investigation Team (SIT) personally delivered the report to Garima at their residence in Kahilipara, Guwahati.
The SIT is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Garg's death, following a complaint filed by his family members, including Garima, his sister-in-law Pamie Barthakur, and his uncle Manoj Borthakur.
The first autopsy report, conducted in Singapore, was handed over to Indian authorities by the Singapore Police Force. This report, along with preliminary findings, has been shared with the Indian High Commission in Singapore.
In a related development, the SIT arrested two individuals — Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, a bandmate of Garg, and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta — bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to unravel the circumstances leading to the untimely death of the beloved singer.
Zubeen Garg, one of Assam’s most renowned singers and composers, passed away while swimming off Sentosa Island in Singapore on Sep 19. He had traveled there to perform at the NorthEast India Festival.
The Singapore authorities conducted the first post-mortem shortly after his death, and the report was handed over to his wife Garima this week. After his body was repatriated to Assam, a second autopsy was carried out at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sep 23, just hours before his cremation.
