Courses covered under NLSAT 2027

NLSIU will admit students through NLSAT 2027 to four categories of programmes: the BA (Honours), three-year LLB (Honours), Master’s Programme in Public Policy (MPP) and PhD programmes.

The BA (Honours) is a three-year undergraduate degree, with an option to pursue a fourth year focused on research. Its curriculum includes foundational courses, majors and minors, open electives, languages, practical courses and internships.

The three-year LLB (Honours) is a postgraduate professional law degree open to graduates from different academic disciplines. The programme qualifies graduates to practise law, subject to applicable professional requirements.

The two-year MPP is an interdisciplinary programme focusing on public policy and the relationship between law and the social sciences. NLSIU will also offer PhD programmes in Law and in Social Sciences, Humanities and Public Policy.

Application details and examination schedule

Candidates seeking admission should monitor NLSIU’s official website for the release of application forms and programme-specific admission notifications. Eligibility conditions and application requirements may differ across courses.

The university has announced April 25, 2027, as the entrance examination date, but applicants should consult the individual notifications for details on eligibility, application deadlines and other requirements.

NLSIU’s five-year integrated BA LLB (Honours) programme and its one-year LLM programme follow a different admission route through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), rather than the NLSAT 2027 process described in this announcement.
