The program offers placements at headquarters and field offices, with institute-verified applications, project-based assignments, and exposure to infrastructure development, targeting students from premier institutions across multiple academic disciplines.

The National Highways Authority of India has invited applications for its Summer Internship Program 2026, offering students an opportunity to work on highway projects across the country.
The two-month internship will run from May 4 to July 5, 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official portal at internshipsatnhai.digitalindiacorporation.in by April 15, 2026.

This year, the program has been expanded to cover a wider range of disciplines. These include civil engineering, information technology, computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, and data science or artificial intelligence.
Opportunities are also open to students from non-technical fields such as law, commerce, sciences, management, mass communication, and library science.
Selected candidates will be placed at NHAI headquarters or field offices, where they will work under professional supervision and gain exposure to infrastructure development projects. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 along with a certificate after completing the program.
The internship is open to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from leading institutions, including NIRF-ranked colleges, top law universities, management institutes, and mass communication schools.
Applicants must submit their forms online through the internship portal, providing academic details and preferred project locations. Educational institutions will verify and approve applications, and only those endorsed by institutes will be considered.
Final placements will be determined by NHAI based on candidate preferences and project availability, in line with guidelines from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
