IIT Kanpur partners with Crisil to boost AI and intelligent systems collaboration

IIT Kanpur has entered into a partnership with Crisil Limited to expand collaboration in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, with a focus on strengthening industry-academia engagement.

The initiative will be led by the institute’s Adhwani School of AI and Intelligent Systems and aims to better align academic training with evolving industry requirements in emerging technology domains.

As part of the collaboration, a Crisil Lecture Series will be introduced on campus, bringing industry professionals and academic experts together to deliver sessions on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, and related fields.

The institute will also include a Crisil Student Award, to be presented annually at convocation, recognizing academic excellence among students of the Department of Intelligent Systems.

In addition, Crisil plans to engage with students through internships, recruitment drives, and industry-linked problem statements, offering exposure to real-world applications.

The Department of Intelligent Systems at IIT Kanpur offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, covering areas including machine learning, big data analytics, natural language processing, computer vision, optimization, cybersecurity, robotics, and human-computer interaction.

The school also hosts research centers focused on advanced AI, robotics, cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, AI policy, and intelligent systems development.

The collaboration is expected to enhance practical learning opportunities by integrating industry perspectives into academic programs, enabling students to work on applied research and real-world use cases across sectors such as finance, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital systems.
