UAE confirms contractor killed in Bahrain strike as Kuwait faces blackouts after air defense interceptions.

As the West Asia conflict entered its 26th day, fresh drone and missile strikes rattled the region, leaving one dead in Bahrain and triggering fires and power outages in Kuwait.
The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that a Moroccan civilian contractor working with its armed forces was killed in an Iranian attack in Bahrain, marking a rare confirmed fatality linked to the escalating hostilities.

In Kuwait, a drone strike targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a fire but causing no casualties. Authorities said emergency teams responded swiftly, bringing the blaze under control.
Separately, parts of Kuwait were plunged into darkness after shrapnel from intercepted missiles damaged the power grid. The Kuwaiti military said its air defense systems were actively engaging hostile missile and drone attacks, adding that explosion sounds heard across the country were due to successful interceptions.
Bahrain’s Civil Defense also reported extinguishing a fire at a company facility hit during the strikes, as authorities assessed damage and secured the site.
The conflict has significantly disrupted daily life across the region. In the UAE, schools have shifted to online learning, with classes set to continue virtually until April 6. The move has raised concerns among parents over transport fees and academic continuity.
On the diplomatic front, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered to host talks between the United States and Iran, signaling Islamabad’s willingness to mediate amid rising tensions. Meanwhile, Donald Trump held discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the evolving situation, including the need to ensure stability in critical maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Bahrain said its forces have intercepted 153 missiles and 301 drones since the conflict began, underscoring the scale and intensity of the ongoing military exchanges.
