The board reports 65.62% pass rate with over 2.8 lakh students clearing the exam, while district-wise performance, division distribution, and rechecking and compartment schedules are also released for candidates.

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced the Class 10 Higher School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) 2026 results through its official websites, bringing the annual examination cycle to a close with an overall pass percentage of 65.62%.
The declaration was made after the board released the result abstract, confirming that out of 438,564 registered candidates, 429,249 appeared for the examination. Of these, 281,701 students cleared the HSLC exam this year.

The Assam State School Education Board (Division I) has released the abstract of results for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, showing an overall pass percentage of 65.62%.
Among successful candidates, 85,189 students secured first division, 150,167 obtained second division, and 46,345 passed in third division. In the merit categories, 3,983 students earned distinction, 13,681 received star marks, and 99,062 were awarded letter marks.
Gender-wise performance showed male candidates recording a pass percentage of 67.78%, with 126,398 students passing out of 186,468 who appeared. Female candidates registered a pass percentage of 63.96%, with 155,303 clearing the exam out of 242,781 who appeared.
The board also reported that 9,315 candidates were absent, five results were withheld, and 135 candidates were expelled from the examination process.
In district-wise performance, Dima Hasao emerged as the top performer with a pass percentage of 88.23%. It was followed by Sivasagar at 84.08% and Dibrugarh at 78.46%, while Cachar recorded the lowest pass percentage at 49.13%.
This year’s HSLC examination topper is Jyotirmay Das.
Candidates seeking re-evaluation or scanned copies of answer sheets, OMR sheets, and answer keys will be able to apply through an online portal starting April 13, 2026.
The compartment examination for eligible students is scheduled for May 2026, with the application window to be opened shortly.
Students who have failed in up to three subjects and have secured at least 170 marks in aggregate will be eligible to appear for the compartment exam in selected subjects.
To access results, students can visit sebaonline.org, asseb.in, or resultsassam.nic.in. After opening the HSLC Result 2026 link, candidates must enter their roll number and required credentials to view and download their scorecards for future use.
To qualify for the HSLC examination, students must secure a minimum of 30% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate. Those who do not meet the requirement will be directed toward compartment examinations, with detailed schedules expected soon on official portals.
The Class 10 examinations began on Feb 10 with MIL and English papers and concluded on Feb 27. The theory exams were conducted in two shifts, from 9 am to 12 noon and from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, with five minutes provided before each paper for reading the question paper.
For context, last year’s HSLC results were declared on April 11, 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 63.98%. Around 4 lakh students appeared, and 270,471 cleared the exam. Amishi Saikia topped the 2025 HSLC exam with 591 marks out of 600, or 98.50%.
In 2024, the pass percentage stood at 75.7%, with exams conducted from Feb 16 to March 4 and results announced on April 20, 2024.
