
Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar said the FIR mentioned six individuals, including Samajwadi Party MP Barq and Sohail Iqbal, the son of local SP MLA Iqbal Mehmood. Barq's "Jama Masjid ki hifazat" (defense of Jama Masjid) statement encouraged the crowd, the FIR says.

Addressing a press conference, Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar said seven FIRs have been lodged in connection with the violence. Six people, including Barq and Iqbal, were named and 2,750 others have been mentioned as unidentified, he said.

Police have detained 21 people—including two women and an investigation has been launched. Authorities have prohibited any outsiders, social groups, or public officials from visiting Sambhal without prior authorization until Nov 30.

In his petition, advocate Vishal Tiwari said that a thorough investigation into alleged malpractices by the Adani Group is in the "interest of the nation," noting shortcomings in the SEBI probe and the market regulator's credibility.
