High-intensity joint action continues in Jaffer forest as forces secure area using drones and reinforcements.

Two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were killed in a high-intensity counterterror operation inside a natural cave in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on February 4.
The militants had been holed up in the dense Jaffer forest area of Ramnagar since February 3 afternoon, following a fierce gunfight with joint teams of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF. One of the terrorists was injured during the initial exchange, after which both took shelter inside the cave to evade capture.

Security forces tightened the cordon after a fresh exchange of fire and explosions late February 3 evening, when the militants attempted to break out under the cover of darkness. Additional reinforcements, including Army paratroopers and specialised dog squads, were rushed to the site to prevent any escape.
The operation remains underway as forces carry out a thorough sanitisation of the cave and surrounding forest area. Drones are being deployed for aerial surveillance to ensure that no further threats remain.
