In his 131st “Mann Ki Baat” radio address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s AI ambitions, honoured late Tamil Nadu leader J Jayalalithaa and urged students to embrace learning, innovation and service as part of national progress.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday used his monthly radio address, “Mann Ki Baat”, to emphasize India’s focus on artificial intelligence (AI), pay tribute to late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and share messages aimed at students and youth.
The programme, broadcast on Feb 17 highlighted key national priorities and inspirational stories ahead of major global and domestic developments.

Modi outlined several themes during his 131st episode of the programme, which reaches a wide audience across India and abroad, underlining the government’s efforts to engage citizens on topics ranging from technology to public service.
In his address, the Prime Minister drew attention to India’s AI initiatives, underscoring the importance of preparing young people for opportunities in emerging technologies.
He spoke about the potential of AI to transform sectors like education, healthcare and governance, urging listeners to embrace technology responsibly and develop future-ready skills.
Modi’s commentary followed India’s ongoing hosting of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, which has drawn global participation from world leaders and tech executives.
The Prime Minister also paid homage to J Jayalalithaa, a prominent political leader and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, recalling her contributions to public welfare and leadership. Modi’s tribute highlighted Jayalalithaa’s role in championing social programmes and her enduring influence on regional politics.
Addressing students, Modi emphasised the value of learning, curiosity and perseverance. He urged young Indians to use educational opportunities to build skills that will shape the nation’s future, blending modern knowledge with ethical values. Modi’s message also touched on the importance of discipline and service in personal development.
In addition to technology and inspiration for youth, Modi spoke about citizen engagement in community service and social welfare.
