The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the ongoing West Asia conflict has posed challenges not just for India but the entire global community, highlighting concerns over energy supplies, shipping routes and regional stability.

India on March 19 said the ongoing conflict in West Asia has become a “testing time” not only for the country but for the entire global community, underlining the broader implications of the crisis.
Addressing a media briefing, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the situation has impacted multiple sectors, including energy security, trade routes and overall regional stability.

He noted that the conflict has had far-reaching consequences, particularly due to disruptions in key maritime corridors and uncertainty around oil and gas supplies. India, which depends significantly on energy imports from the region, is closely monitoring developments.
The spokesperson added that the crisis has affected not just India but countries across the world, as tensions continue to escalate and impact global markets and logistics chains.
India has been in touch with various stakeholders in the region and beyond, engaging diplomatically to ensure the safety of its citizens and the security of its economic interests.
The government has also been taking measures to maintain stability in domestic supply chains, especially in sectors sensitive to global disruptions, including fuel and shipping.
The remarks come amid continued hostilities in the region, which have raised concerns over the safety of commercial shipping and the potential for further escalation.
India has reiterated its call for restraint and dialogue, emphasising the need for de-escalation and peaceful resolution of the conflict.
