Jammu and Kashmir Police on August 10 released sketches of four terrorists spotted in Kathua's upper reaches and announced a Rs 5 lakh reward for credible information on each terrorist, leading to their capture or elimination.
The terrorists, linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad's Kashmir Tigers, as per police remain untraced despite massive search operations. Kathua and Doda districts in the Jammu region recently witnessed deadly ambushes and attacks resulting in multiple casualties to the army.

In one such terror attack on July 8, terrorists targeted an army patrol in the remote forest belt of Machedi in Kathua, killing five soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). The terrorists involved in recent attacks on armed forces were spotted in 'dhoks' ( kaccha-houses) in the higher reaches of the Kathua district.

Kathua police In a social media post on X, shared sketches of the four terrorists, who were last seen in the temporary shelters in Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar forests of the district. "A reward of 5 lakh rupees would be given for actionable information on each terrorist. Anyone with credible information on the terrorists will also be suitably rewarded," the post announced.
In another attack on July 15 in the Desa forest of Doda district, terrorists killed four army personnel, including a captain. Police on July 27, released sketches of four terrorists involved in the attack and offered a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each for information leading to their capture.
Earlier, on June 9, terrorists killed nine passengers, including seven pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple, in Reasi district. The terrorists responsible for this attack have still not been tracked down, despite a cash reward already been offered to capture or eliminate them.
