The dramatic reversal came after a woman lodged complaints accusing Singh of inappropriate online communications and unwelcome invitations to meet, triggering a thorough departmental inquiry.

Once the face of innovative and engaging traffic policing at Indore’s High Court Square, Singh’s viral dance routines earned him national fame, commendations from senior officers, and a coveted acting head constable post.

But that rise has now come to an abrupt halt. Senior police officials, alarmed by the complaints and revelations of disciplinary lapses, removed Singh from active duty and reassigned him to police lines while the investigation unfolded.

The inquiry, supervised by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Headquarters, uncovered multiple concerns that cast serious doubt on Singh’s conduct and suitability for leadership roles.

Additional DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed the decision, stating, “An order was issued reverting Ranjit Singh, who had been promoted to acting head constable in 2021, to his original rank of constable. The inquiry revealed issues related to indiscipline, including troubling social media activity and messages.”
