At least two people have been confirmed dead and more feared hurt after a six-storey building in Gujarat's Surat collapsed on July 6 afternoon, according to officials on site.
It is still unclear how many people are still trapped under the debris, officials said, adding that a rescue operation was underway and will continue overnight.

One dead body has been retrieved from the debris while efforts are on to retrieve the other. One woman has been pulled out alive.
The building, located in the Sachin Pali area of Surat, had 30 apartments, of which five were occupied by textile workers and their families, officials said as dramatic visuals depicted rescue teams navigating through large chunks of concrete in search of survivors.
The building, reported to be in a deteriorating state, collapsed amidst heavy rainfall that has battered the area in recent days.
