A police official said the exchange of fire happened at Jakurador Karong in the Borobekra sub-division and bodies of the suspected militants were brought to the Borobekra police station.

At least 11 suspected militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Manipur’s Jiribam district, officials said on Nov 11.
Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel also sustained injuries during the exchange of fire that happened at Jakurador Karong in the Borobekra sub-division, news agency PTI reported quoting officials.

An official was quoted as saying the condition of one of the injured personnel was believed to be “serious”.
A police official was quoted as saying five civilians in the area have also remained missing and a search is on to trace them. On Nov 7 night suspected militants attacked a village in the Jiribam district dominated by the Kuki community, leading to the killing of a woman and setting ablaze some houses and shops, the official added.
The bodies of the slain suspected militants had been brought to the Borobekra police station, officials were quoted as saying.
It is unclear whether the missing civilians had been kidnapped by the retreating militants or were in hiding after the attack, PTI reported.
