IIT Delhi launches second batch of Executive Program in Semiconductors, AI and Deep-Tech

IIT Delhi has opened registrations for the second batch of its Executive Programme in Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep-Tech Entrepreneurship, a six-month course designed to cover advanced technology and commercialization.

The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) of IIT Delhi will conduct the program online from Jan 9 to June 12, 2027. Applications are currently open, with Sept 30, 2026, set as the final date to register. The institute has said admissions will not be accepted after the registration window closes.

The programme is designed to provide participants with an understanding of semiconductor and photonic devices used in AI and high-performance computing (HPC), along with areas such as commercialization, intellectual property strategy, funding and startup scaling.

What will the course cover?

The six-month programme will focus on three areas: semiconductors, artificial intelligence and deep-tech entrepreneurship. It will include 80 hours of live online instruction.

Participants will also be introduced to photonics, which uses light for applications including communication and computing.

The curriculum is divided into six major modules:

• Semiconductor and photonics fundamentals for deep-tech
• Advanced semiconductor and electronic devices
• Photonics devices for artificial intelligence
• Deep-tech entrepreneurship in semiconductors
• Case studies and industry interactions
• Pitching and fundraising for deep-tech startups

The course is intended primarily for working professionals, researchers, engineers and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking advanced knowledge of emerging technologies and related business opportunities.

Graduates from any discipline are eligible to enroll in the program.

Faculty and industry exposure

The programme will be coordinated by Deepak Jain, Associate Professor at the Optics & Photonics Center, IIT Delhi, and a deep-tech entrepreneur.

The faculty team will also include Prof A Aadhi, Assistant Professor at the Optics and Photonics Centre, IIT Delhi, and Professor Mihai Sanduleanu, Associate Professor at Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

Along with live online classes, the programme will include industry interactions and case studies. Participants will also have a two-day campus immersion, providing an opportunity to interact with faculty members and fellow participants.

Fees and certification

The total programme fee is ₹150,000, excluding 18% GST. Candidates can also pay the program fee in installments.

Participants who maintain at least 40% attendance will be eligible for a participation certificate. A successful completion certificate will be issued to candidates who meet the 40% attendance requirement and secure at least 50% marks.

Both certificates will be issued digitally by CEP, IIT Delhi.
