Eligible candidates can apply through the Samarth portal for online and ODL programs, while certificate and semester-based programs remain excluded from the extended deadline.

IGNOU has extended the deadline for fresh admissions for the July 2026 session until Sept 30, giving eligible students additional time to apply for online programs and most programs offered through the open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
The extension applies to online programs except certificate and semester-based programs. Candidates interested in enrolling can complete the admission process through the IGNOU Samarth admission portal at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Applicants should check the eligibility requirements for their preferred program on the university's admission portal before submitting their applications.
How to apply
Candidates can complete the fresh admission process by following these steps:
Registration fee, cancellation, and refund rules
The registration fee paid during the admission process is non-refundable. Applicants can cancel their applications through their login credentials, but cancellation cannot be reversed.
If an applicant cancels before admission confirmation, the amount paid will be refunded according to the university's applicable rules.
After admission confirmation, 15% of the program fee will be deducted from the refund, subject to a maximum deduction of ₹2,000.
Students who choose soft-copy study material will receive a refund after deduction of only the registration fee. For students who receive a fee exemption, only the development fee will be refunded.
IGNOU has stated that no refund will be provided after 60 days from the admission closing date.
Candidates can visit the official IGNOU admission portal for details about available programs, eligibility criteria, syllabi, required documents and other admission-related information.
