From April 5th to 7th, 2024, the prestigious UPES School of Law played host to VidhiUtsav, India's largest academic law fest, in the picturesque city of Dehradun. The event, which attracted over 600 students from 183 universities and law colleges across the nation, culminated in a grand valedictory ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries from the legal fraternity.
Distinguished Guests and Speakers: The valedictory ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities such as Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, along with Justices Namit Kumar, Harkesh Manuja, and Harsh Bunger from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The event was inaugurated by Justice U C Dhyani, Former Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand, and Chairman of the Uttarakhand Public Service Tribunal.

Unparalleled Participation and Competitions: VidhiUtsav featured eleven national-level academic competitions covering various legal fields, providing a platform for budding legal minds to showcase their talents. The event witnessed unparalleled participation, with renowned universities and law colleges vying for top honors.
Insightful Sessions by Legal Luminaries: Attendees were treated to enlightening sessions by distinguished speakers such as Padmashri Indira Jaising, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Sonia Mathur, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Gauri Maulekhi, an Animal Rights Advocate; and legal professionals from leading law firms and multinational corporations.
Recognition of Legal Excellence: A panel of 142 industry experts adjudicated the competitions, culminating in the recognition of outstanding legal talent. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law emerged as the overall championship winner of VidhiUtsav, showcasing exemplary legal acumen.
Honoring Distinguished Alumni: The event also served as an occasion to honor 40 distinguished alumni of UPES School of Law, including judges, advocates, partners of top law firms, and entrepreneurs, highlighting the institution's contribution to the legal profession.
Promoting Excellence in Legal Education: VidhiUtsav not only showcased the academic prowess and competitive spirit of law students but also served as a platform for networking and fostering camaraderie within the legal community. The event's resounding success underscores UPES's commitment to nurturing legal talent and promoting excellence in legal education.
