ISRO established its 100th technology transfer agreement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to facilitate the independent manufacturing of Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLVs)

Regarding the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV):
What does it entail?

A 3-stage, budget-friendly launch system intended for placing small satellites into orbit.
Equipped with three robust propulsion stages and a liquid-fueled Velocity Trimming Module (VTM) as the final stage.
Created by: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Goal:
To satisfy the increasing need in the worldwide small satellite industry.
To offer affordable, fast execution, and on-demand launch capability with limited infrastructure.
Details of SSLV:
Dimensions: Approximately 2 meters in width and 34 meters in height – similar to the elevation of an 11-story structure.
Mass: Approximately 120 tonnes at launch.
Payload Capacity: Capable of transporting up to 500 kg of satellites into a 500 km orbit – ideal for small satellites.
Engines and Propulsion:
Initial Phase: Solid propellant engine.
Second Phase: Solid fuel.
Third Phase: Solid combustion.
Final Adjustment (VTM): Compact liquid-fuel engines (MMH + MON-3), 16 miniature thrusters (50 N each) for accurate orbit positioning.
What it is Capable of?
Deploy one or several satellites simultaneously.
Specifically created for nanosatellites, microsatellites, and minisatellites (with weights ranging from 10 to 500 kg).
Offers adaptable, rapid, and affordable launch choices for customers both locally and globally.
Importance of the Agreement with HAL:
Enhances Atmanirbharta – HAL acquires the ability to produce SSLVs on its own.
Industrial Ecosystem – Enhances the participation of India’s private sector in space technology.
Commercial Viability – Establishes India in the worldwide small-satellite launch sector.
Technology Transfer Milestone – Celebrates ISRO's 100th accomplishment in technology transfer.
