Sports integration in scientific institutes

The Inter-IISER Sports Meet, an annual multi-institutional sporting tournament, is currently underway. Participating institutes include all Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), NISER (Bhubaneswar), IISc (Bangalore), and UM-DAE CEBS (Mumbai). The event spans December and features competitions across multiple sports, fostering both athletic excellence and teamwork among students and researchers.
IISERs and other premier research institutes are primarily known for academic and scientific research. Over the years, inter-institute sports meets have become a platform for holistic student development, promoting physical fitness, leadership, and cross-institution collaboration.

The Inter-IISER Sports Meet underscores the importance of integrating sports into academic ecosystems, highlighting that premier research institutions in India are committed to holistic education and overall student development.
