Campaign promotes safe digital transactions and aims to prevent online payment fraud across the country

The Reserve Bank of India has launched Digital Payment Awareness Week from 9–15 March 2026 to promote safe and secure digital transactions among citizens. The initiative aims to increase awareness about digital payment safety and strengthen financial literacy across the country.
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Safe Digital Payments.” As part of the initiative, the RBI has introduced the slogan “Thoda Dhyan Se!”, encouraging users to remain cautious while conducting online transactions. The campaign highlights the importance of verifying payment details, safeguarding personal information, and avoiding suspicious links or fraudulent calls.

During the awareness week, the central bank will conduct various educational programmes, workshops, and public outreach campaigns to inform people about secure digital payment practices. These activities will also focus on preventing digital fraud and promoting responsible use of digital financial platforms.
The initiative is expected to strengthen financial literacy and encourage safer digital payment behaviour among users in India. With the rapid expansion of digital transactions, the campaign aims to build trust in digital payment systems and support the development of a secure and efficient digital financial ecosystem.
