Government plans 25 new Vande Bharat Express trains and modernisation of 50 stations with ₹75,000 crore investment

The Government of India has announced a major expansion of railway infrastructure to improve connectivity, efficiency, and passenger experience across the country. The plan includes the introduction of 25 new Vande Bharat trains and the modernisation of 50 railway stations as part of a broader effort to modernise Indian Railways.
The Vande Bharat Express trains, known for their high speed, modern design, and energy efficiency, will enhance inter-city connectivity and reduce travel time. The modernisation of railway stations will include improved passenger amenities, digital information systems, better accessibility, and upgraded infrastructure.

The expansion involves a total investment of approximately ₹75,000 crore, aimed at strengthening rail transport capacity and supporting economic growth. Improved railway infrastructure will facilitate faster movement of passengers and goods, enhancing trade, logistics efficiency, and regional development.
This initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities and support India’s infrastructure development goals. A modern and efficient railway network is essential for economic growth, sustainable transportation, and improving overall connectivity across urban and rural areas.
