Whatfix CEO Khadim Batti Dies, SaaS and Startup Ecosystem Mourns Loss

Khadim Batti, co-founder and CEO of enterprise software startup Whatfix, has passed away, leaving the Indian SaaS and startup ecosystem mourning the loss of a prominent entrepreneur and community leader. Batti co-founded Whatfix with Vara Kumar Namburu in 2014. The Bengaluru-based company developed a digital adoption platform that helps enterprises improve the way employees use software.

Under Batti’s leadership, Whatfix grew into a global enterprise software company and expanded its presence across international markets. Beyond his work at Whatfix, Batti played an active role in India’s growing SaaS and artificial intelligence communities. He was a member of the governing council of SaaSBoomi and was among the founding members of AIBoomi, a community focused on India’s AI-first product ecosystem.

Reacting to his death, Avinash Raghava, CEO and founding volunteer at SaaSBoomi and a key member of the AIBoomi community, said he was “deeply shocked and saddened” by Batti’s passing. “Khadim has been such an important part of our AIBoomi community and of the larger SaaS and AI ecosystem in India. Someone many of us have known over the years, shared rooms and conversations with, learnt from, and deeply respected,” Raghava said. Raghava said that apart from what Batti built at Whatfix, he would remember him as “a wonderful friend” and “a generous mentor” who consistently made time for founders and the wider startup community.

“We have lost someone very special today. My heart goes out to his family, the entire Whatfix team, and everyone who was close to him,” he said. Batti began his startup journey in 2010. Before co-founding Whatfix, he served as Delivery Head for DPI & BI Solutions at Huawei Technologies India.

He subsequently co-founded SearchEnabler, where he served as CEO, before launching Whatfix. With more than two decades of experience spanning software development, product innovation and business leadership, Batti became a recognised figure in India’s technology and enterprise software ecosystem. He held a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bombay.
