UP Chief Minister Accuses Opposition of Proposing an Inheritance Tax Similar to Jizya when they come to power.

Uttar Pradesh Elections: Yogi Adityanath is generally referred to as "Maharaj ji".
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a stern warning on May 30, cautioning those who tread the path of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Speaking at a rally in Himachal Pradesh, Adityanath accused the Congress party of harboring intentions to implement the Taliban system and Sharia law across India.

"The Congress manifesto aligns closely with that of the Muslim League," Adityanath asserted. "Their agenda seeks to impose Sharia law nationwide and establish a system akin to the Taliban's. If this were to materialize, it would restrict girls' access to education and confine women to their homes, veiled in burqas," he said.
In addition to this accusation, the Chief Minister pointed out that opposition parties were advocating for a tax reminiscent of the historical Jizya tax.
The Jizya tax, historically levied on non-Muslims in certain Islamic states, has drawn controversy due to its discriminatory nature.
Adityanath's rhetoric took a more forceful turn when he invoked the imagery of a bulldozer.
"Those who follow Aurangzeb's path will face permanent consequences," he declared. Although he did not elaborate on the specifics, the metaphorical reference to a bulldozer suggests decisive action.
The Chief Minister also took a swipe at the Congress party's response to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
He claimed that while the rest of the world celebrated the temple's completion, Congress leaders remained in mourning.
Their refusal to attend the Ayodhya event and subsequent dismissal of the temple's significance further fueled tensions.
Adityanath concluded, “Lord Ram now resides in his divine temple in Ayodhya. Despite the joy felt by followers of Sanatan Dharma, Congress persists in its negativity. Their stance against the Ram temple remains unwavering.”
