Days after being removed as the Aam Aadmi Party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha has strongly rejected allegations levelled against him by party leaders, describing them as “false” and part of a “coordinated attack.”
In a video message posted on social media, Chadha said a “scripted campaign” was being run against him using “the same language and talking points,” prompting him to respond publicly.

Framing his response as “Three allegations. Zero truth,” Chadha addressed the charges one by one. The first allegation, he said, was that he did not participate in Opposition walkouts in Parliament. Rejecting the claim, he termed it a “blatant lie” and challenged critics to produce evidence, pointing out that parliamentary proceedings are recorded.
The second allegation related to his alleged refusal to sign a motion seeking action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Chadha denied this as well, stating that he was never asked by the party, either formally or informally, to sign the motion. He also noted that several other MPs had not signed it, questioning why he was being singled out.
A third criticism against him has been that he focused on “soft issues” and avoided aggressive political confrontation. Responding to this, Chadha said his approach in Parliament is to focus on “impact, not ruckus,” highlighting his interventions on issues such as taxation, pollution, and public welfare.
The rebuttal comes amid escalating tensions within AAP after Chadha was removed from the deputy leader’s post and replaced by Ashok Mittal. The party has also reportedly curtailed his speaking role in the Upper House.
The public exchange marks a rare instance of open disagreement within AAP’s top ranks, with Chadha asserting that the allegations are being used to undermine his parliamentary role and restrict his voice.
