Mehbooba Mufti Accuses BJP of Encouraging Attacks on Minorities
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, today on Tuesday, accused the BJP of inciting unemployed youth in the country to target Muslims as an outlet for their frustration. This statement was in response to a media report alleging that an Imam of a mosque in Uttar Pradesh's Khushinagar was assaulted by miscreants, and the police did not take action against the perpetrators.
Mufti criticized the BJP's claim of replacing stones with laptops in Kashmir. She argued that the reality across the country shows that they have instead encouraged dissatisfied unemployed youth to attack Muslims as a means of expressing their frustration.

She expressed her dismay at the fact that these young individuals are content with their futures being jeopardized as long as they can target Muslims. "Instead of delivering on their promises of creating two crore jobs, they've turned them into hooligans. What's even more tragic is that these young men are fine with their futures being ruined as long as they get to punish and humiliate Muslims," she added.
