West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid tribute to Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on his 203rd birth anniversary on Tuesday, urging people to recommit themselves to the values of ‘equality, education, and empowerment for all’. She emphasized Vidyasagar’s dedication to social progress and his contributions to Bengal’s culture as a testament to the transformative power of knowledge and compassion.
Mamata Banerjee stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Today, on the anniversary of his birth, we honor the life and legacy of the great reformer and scholar, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. His enduring contributions to our culture and his unwavering commitment to social progress serve as a testament to the enduring influence of knowledge and compassion.
