Gandhinagar: The Gujarat wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday started a campaign to solicit suggestions from people for the party's poll manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, its leader said.
The suggestions from the people will be gathered through drop boxes, phone calls, Namo app and email and will be incorporated in the BJP 'Sankalp Patra' (manifesto) that will be drafted by the party's central committee before the general elections, which are expected to be held in April/May.

Gujarat BJP head C R Paatil launched 'Viksit Bharat Modi Ki Guarantee' video vans and said that people from all over the state can share their suggestions on phone number '9090902024' and email id '[email protected]' for the party's manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"Two vans for each of the state's 26 Lok Sabha constituencies have LED screens to display Modi government's achievements and carry boxes where people can put their suggestion notes for the manifesto," Paatil said.
He told reporters that the aim of the campaign is to collect suggestions from the public and understand their expectations from the party before the Lok Sabha polls.
The campaign was initiated by the party's national president J P Nadda from New Delhi on February 26 last month.
"Through this campaign, we are trying to reach out to more than 15 lakh people from Gujarat and collect their suggestions in four ways -- Sankalp Patra box, NaMo app, a missed call number and email," he said.
Sankalp Patra boxes will be placed at strategic locations for the people to write and drop their suggestions, he said.
"Under this campaign, the workers will interact with the public at the booth level and get their suggestions. Suggestions will also be obtained through district-level meetings organised by various cells. More than 95 per cent of the pledges made in the manifestos of 2014 and 2019 have been fulfilled," Paatil said.
He said that the BJP takes its 'Sankalp Patra' seriously. "BJP has delivered on its promises, which is why the people of the country trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We urge the public of Gujarat to send their suggestions in a large number. We will try to include all feasible suggestions in the manifesto," he said.
