In a brazen violation of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi have pushed our innocent children into politics by uploading their videos on X to woo voters ahead of Delhi assembly polls, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said.

Citing a letter written by National Human Rights Commission member Priyank Kanoongo to the Election Commission (EC) over the alleged use of children for the promotion of politics by Chief Minister Atishi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Dec 31 demanded that the video posted on X by Aam Admi Party (AAP) be taken down.
Kanoongo had written to the EC on Dec 30, drawing its attention to a video posted on X by Atishi and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal where children are heard saying “ab ki baar Kejriwal”.

Kanoongo wrote that while he was aware that the model code of conduct had not been imposed in Delhi yet, the EC was “deeply concerned about the participation of children in political campaigning activities”.
“The Commission requests your good office to kindly take urgent corrective measures to address the instant issue and at the same time, requests to kindly consider issuance of firm guidelines to all the political parties to refrain from using children in any political activities,” he wrote.
Demanding that the post be removed immediately, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, “Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi have pushed our innocent children into politics by uploading their videos. This is a violation of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015.”
“Secondly, the guidelines of the Election Commission state that there should be no statements of children, there should be no presence of them, there should be no such activities… This X post should be removed immediately…” Bhatia added.
