AAP hits back at BJP over ‘Sheesh Mahal 2’ claims, calls images fake

A fresh political row has erupted between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after BJP leaders shared images purportedly showing a lavish residence linked to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The controversy began after BJP leader Parvesh Verma released visuals described as “Sheesh Mahal 2,” alleging that Kejriwal was living in luxury at a new residence.

Responding sharply, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh dismissed the images as “fake” and accused the BJP of misleading the public. He also warned that those circulating the visuals could face defamation proceedings.

Escalating the attack, Singh referred to the BJP as the “Bharatiya Jootha Party,” intensifying the war of words between the two sides.

The BJP, however, has maintained its allegations, claiming the visuals highlight what it describes as a contradiction between AAP’s public messaging of simplicity and the alleged lifestyle of its leadership.

The party has continued to press for answers over the authenticity of the property shown in the images, which AAP has categorically denied.

AAP leaders have challenged the BJP to present verifiable proof and publicly show the alleged property, maintaining that the claims are baseless.

Meanwhile, the BJP continues to push its allegations, keeping the issue at the centre of a growing political confrontation in the national capital.

The latest exchange comes against the backdrop of recent political defections that have heightened tensions between the two parties.

Seven of the Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MPs — Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Vikram Sahney and Rajendra Gupta — has left the party to join the BJP.

The announcement was made during a press briefing at the Constitution Club in central Delhi, a move that took political observers by surprise. Chadha said the decision followed concerns over what he described as a shift away from the party’s original ideals.

Reacting to the development, Sanjay Singh said he would approach the Rajya Sabha Chairman seeking disqualification of the seven MPs.
