PM Modi thanks youth for overwhelming response to midnight video on paper leak law

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked young people across the country for the overwhelming response to his late-night video message on examination paper leaks, saying their love, trust and constructive suggestions had further strengthened his bond with them.

In a video shared on social media, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to those who engaged with his message, saying their support reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing an issue that has deeply affected millions of students and families.

"Thank you, friends. Last night, I got an opportunity to connect with you. The way you responded to the video I had posted and gave positive suggestions, thanks to everybody. Your love will continue, and our relationship will become even stronger. Thank you, thank you, friends," PM Modi said.

The response to the Prime Minister's video was swift and overwhelming. The post crossed 2.5 million views within just eight minutes of being uploaded and garnered over one million likes on Instagram within 20 minutes, reflecting significant public engagement, particularly among young audiences.

The message followed PM Modi's late-night address at 11:52 pm on Thursday, in which he announced that the Union Cabinet would consider a draft law proposing fast-track courts and stricter punishment for examination paper leak cases.

In the nearly three-minute video, the Prime Minister assured students and parents that the government would make every effort to secure Parliament's approval for the proposed legislation at the earliest during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

The late-night post also boosted PM Modi's social media presence, with his Instagram account reportedly gaining around one million new followers overnight.

Describing examination paper leaks as a grave challenge, the Prime Minister said such incidents had caused immense emotional distress to lakhs of students and their families, while reaffirming the government's resolve to tackle the problem with stronger legal measures.

"This is not a minor issue. It has caused immense pain to lakhs of students and their parents," he said.

PM Modi also noted that after the alleged NEET paper leak, the government's immediate priority was to ensure that affected students did not lose an academic year.

Meanwhile, during Friday's Union Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister reportedly urged his ministers to become more active on Instagram and other social media platforms to strengthen communication with the country's youth.

According to sources, PM Modi asked Cabinet colleagues how many of them were actively using Instagram, stressing that a large section of India's young population spends considerable time on the platform. He underscored the need for the government to engage more effectively with young citizens through digital platforms.
