DMRC implements fare revision from Aug 25, with standard journey prices rising by ₹1–₹4 and Airport Express fares up by ₹5 to meet rising operational costs.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has increased metro fares starting Aug 25 for the first time in eight years. The minimum fare is now ₹11 (up from ₹10), while the maximum fare for a regular journey reaches ₹64 (up from ₹60). Meanwhile, fares on the Airport Express Line have risen by ₹5.
The fare revision applies across various distance slabs, with most tariffs going up by ₹1 to ₹4, depending on travel distance. The Airport Express Line has seen a slightly larger increase.

This is Delhi Metro’s first fare increase since 2017, when the minimum fare rose from ₹8 to ₹10 and the maximum fare doubled from ₹30 to ₹60.
DMRC officials have described the hike as “nominal” or “minimal,” attributing it to increased operational costs such as electricity, maintenance, and inflation that have mounted over the years.
The revised fares are now in effect across all Delhi Metro lines. Commuters relying on the metro for daily travel, especially those covering longer distances. will experience a slight increase in their daily transit expenses.
