Law graduates meeting eligibility criteria can join the Army’s legal branch as officers, handling military law, court-martial cases, and legal matters related to service regulations and discipline.

The Indian Army has invited applications from eligible law graduates for the Short Service Commission (SSC) Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry Scheme 125th Course. The recruitment drive aims to induct unmarried male and female candidates as officers in the Army's legal branch.
Interested candidates can complete the online application process through the official Join Indian Army website. The registration window will remain open until Aug 17, 2026.

Applicants must have an LLB degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university. Candidates are also required to have appeared for the CLAT PG 2026 examination held in December 2025.
The age criteria for applicants is 21 to 27 years as of Jan 1, 2027.
The selection process will be based on candidates' CLAT PG 2026 performance. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, followed by a medical examination.
Final selection will depend on overall performance, medical fitness, and the availability of vacancies.
JAG officers serve as legal advisors within the Indian Army and handle matters related to military law, court-martial proceedings, administrative issues, and service regulations.
They provide legal assistance to military authorities and support disciplinary and operational requirements.
Candidates interested in applying must submit their forms online through the official Join Indian Army portal. Before registration, applicants should verify that they meet all eligibility requirements mentioned in the recruitment notification.
The Army has advised candidates to complete the application process before the deadline and regularly check the official website for updates regarding the recruitment schedule, SSB interviews, and other announcements.
