The Indian Army has launched its 2025 recruitment campaign for the Remount and Veterinary Corps (RVC), offering a distinguished career opportunity for eligible veterinary science graduates.
Both male and female candidates can apply for Short Service Commission (SSC) positions in the corps. The application deadline is May 26, 2025.

Applicants interested in joining the Indian Army through the Short Service Commission in the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) must hold a bachelor’s degree in veterinary science (BVSc or BVSc & AH) from a recognized institution.
The opportunity is open to Indian citizens and Nepalese nationals, as well as individuals of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided they possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Candidates must be aged between 21 and 32 years as of 26 May 2025.
A total of 20 vacancies are available, including 17 for male candidates and 3 for female candidates.
The selection process involves an initial screening of applications, an SSB interview, a merit list, and a medical examination.
Selected candidates will be commissioned with the rank of captain and undergo training at the RVC Centre and College, Meerut Cantt, Uttar Pradesh.
This Short Service Commission offers an opportunity to serve in a specialized and vital branch of the Indian Army.
The salary package includes a basic pay of ₹61,300 under the Level-10B pay matrix, Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500, a 20% Non-Practice Allowance (NPA), and additional allowances like Kit Maintenance Allowance and Dearness Allowance, bringing the total in-hand salary to an estimated ₹80,000 to ₹120,000 depending on the posting.
Interested candidates must type their applications on plain paper (21×36 cm) in the prescribed format available on the official Indian Army website.
The envelope must be clearly marked in red ink with “Application for Short Service Commission in RVC” and sent via ordinary, registered, or speed post to Directorate General Remount Veterinary Services (RV-1), QMG Branch, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army), West Block 3, Ground Floor, Wing-4, RK Puram, New Delhi – 110066.
