The chief minister directed officials to fill vacant teaching posts without delay and confirmed that 35% of all new appointments will be reserved for women originally from Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on July 16 unveiled a series of key decisions aimed at boosting employment opportunities and easing household electricity costs ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Kumar announced that he has directed the Education Department to urgently assess the number of vacant teaching posts in government schools and speed up the process of conducting the Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.

He reiterated, "35% reservation in teacher appointments would be exclusively applicable to women domiciled in Bihar."
In a separate move, the chief minister said that beginning Aug 1, applicable from the electricity bill for July, all domestic consumers in the state will receive up to 125 units of electricity free of charge. The scheme is likely to benefit nearly 1.67 crore households across Bihar.
To promote the use of clean energy, Kumar announced that rooftop or nearby community-based solar panels will be installed for these households over the next three years, based on consent.
The state government will cover the entire cost of solar installations for families enrolled in the Kutir Jyoti Yojana, which supports the poorest sections.
Other eligible households will also receive government assistance for setting up solar panels.
"This initiative could help Bihar generate an estimated 10,000 megawatts of solar power in three years," Kumar said, adding that the project would lower electricity costs for families while expanding the state’s renewable energy capacity.
