The Khan family at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, had an unsettling Sunday. What should have been a peaceful day for the family turned tense when gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan's home early on April 14. The Mumbai police sprang into action, and Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the incident, leading to a series of events throughout the day.
Gunshots Outside Salman's Home:

The day began with news of gunshots fired outside Salman's Mumbai residence around 5 am. According to the police, two unidentified individuals had opened fire, with three rounds initially believed to have been fired. Forensic teams arrived at the scene, and security was heightened outside his residence. Visuals shared by ANI and Hindustan Times showed the forensic team examining the crime scene, where they found a bullet that had struck the building's wall and four casings.
CCTV Footage of Suspects:
Initial investigations found it challenging to identify the suspects or their bike's number from the CCTV footage. However, it was evident that the shooting was a drive-by. The riders were also wearing helmets, further complicating their identification. Nevertheless, the Bandra police filed an FIR against the unidentified individuals based on statements from people who heard the gunshot. A two-wheeler was reportedly found not far from the actor's residence.
Salim Khan's Reaction:
Despite the commotion surrounding his son, Salim Khan remained unfazed. The renowned screenwriter even went for a walk after the incident. A source quoted by Etimes said, "Salim Khan is not perturbed at all and carried out his routine as always. The family is very cautious and careful. Salman Khan is safe and sound and is with them."
Reactions from Pooja Bhatt and Politicians:
Pooja Bhatt reacted to the news of the shooting outside Salman's home, calling it "horrific and condemnable." She expressed concern about the safety illusion if such an incident could occur with a police van parked outside the Khan residence for protection.
Salman has had Y+ security cover by the police since 2022. Several individuals, including Arbaaz Khan, Sshura Khan, Sohail Khan, Aayush Sharma, Arpita Khan, and Mahesh Manjrekar, rushed to Salman's home. Politicians Raj Thackrey, Rahul Kanal, and Baba Siddiqui were also seen visiting his residence. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde spoke to the actor over the phone, while NCP-SCP leader Supriya Sule strongly reacted to the shooting outside Salman's house, calling it a 'complete failure of the Home Ministry.'
Anmol Bishnoi's Alleged Claim of Responsibility:
A Facebook post purportedly written by Anmol Bishnoi, also an accused in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case, allegedly claimed responsibility for the shooting. He wrote in Hindi, “We want peace. If the only decision against oppression is war, then so be it. Salman Khan, we have only shown you a trailer so that you understand the magnitude of our strength and do not test it. This is the first and last warning. Also, we have two pet dogs named after Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, whom you consider your Gods. I don't want to say much. Jai Shri Ram!”
Crime Branch Takes Over:
The Mumbai Crime Branch has now assumed control of the case, deploying more than 10 teams for the investigation. Fresh images from new CCTV footage allegedly showing the two assailants circulated online. The police are yet to verify these claims. However, the police did confirm to the press that one of the assailants is suspected to be from Gurugram.
