Following concerns raised by students and parents, the institute said a review of examination records found no evidence of cheating, data manipulation, unauthorized assistance, or malpractice.

IIT Roorkee has dismissed social media claims related to JEE Advanced 2026 ranks and score patterns, stating that the information being circulated online is inaccurate and does not correspond to official examination records.
The clarification was issued after posts and lists allegedly showing candidates' ranks, total marks, and differences between Paper 1 and Paper 2 scores gained traction on social media, prompting concerns among students and parents.

In a statement shared through its official social media handle, the institute said the data being circulated is not authentic and should not be considered a reliable source of information.
Responding to discussions over significant variations between scores in the two papers, IIT Roorkee said such a pattern was observed in only two candidates among the top 10,000 rank holders.
The institute noted that differences in performance between Paper 1 and Paper 2 are not unusual and are recorded and analyzed every year.
According to the institute, variations in marks across the two papers are a recognized feature of the examination and do not indicate any irregularity.
IIT Roorkee also said it conducted a detailed review of examination records and associated data following the concerns raised online.
The review, it said, found no evidence of cheating, malpractice, unauthorized assistance, data manipulation, or any breach in the integrity of the examination process.
The statement comes in the wake of continued online discussions after the announcement of the JEE Advanced 2026 results.
Reiterating confidence in the examination system, IIT Roorkee said the process remains secure and fair and advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communications rather than unverified information circulating on social media platforms.
